While our sister associations also promote this business partnership approach to marketing, they have tended to do so on a targeted basis, expending their resources in a given industry or geographic market. MANA has, and will continue to focus on the broader picture of education, making its presence known at the state, national, and international levels. At the same time, MANA lends its support to these sister organizations and helps fund the Manufacturers’ Representative Educational Research Foundation (MRERF) in education regarding the profession.
A Consortium of members worldwide who have joined together to establish and maintain standards and disseminate information about PC/104 and other small form factors to manufacturers and users, as well as to provide a liaison function between the PC/104 community and other standard organizations. Their website will provide you with detailed information about the standards we currently administer, PC/104, PC/104-Plus, PCI-104, PCIe/104, PCI/104-Express, EBX, EBX Express, EPIC and EPIC Express, along with information about Consortium companies and their product offerings. All standards can be downloaded without charge. All standards administered by this organization use small (3.6 x 3.8 in), self stacking PC/104, PC/104-Plus or PCI-104 I/O modules with 104-pin ISA and / or 120-pin PCI bus connectors for I/O expansion. This unique stacking technology allows multiple modules to be added to the system without the burden of backplanes and card cages.
PICMG is a consortium of companies who collaboratively develop open specifications for high performance telecommunications and industrial computing applications. The members of the consortium have a long history of developing leading edge products for these industries.
Founded in 1994, PICMG’s original mission was to extend the PCI standard, from the PCI Special Interest Group for use in non-traditional computer markets such as Industrial Automation, Medical, Military and Telecom.
